Mission Statement

The mission of the Purchasing Department is to obtain the highest quality goods and services for the best price.  To achieve this goal, the District utilizes a fair, open and transparent competitive solicitation process. The Purchasing Department will assist all departments with purchasing needs while maximizing the use of public funds. It will further aim to determine the sources and availability of needed products and to procure products which meet the explicit requirements of the departments at the least cost to the District.

We will accomplish our mission in the following ways:

  • By encouraging fair and open competition among the suppliers through negotiation, competitive bidding and contract buying.
  • By ensuring that purchase orders and contracts contain necessary terms and conditions to insulate the District against legal liability.
  • Through developing and maintaining adequate controls, records, and files.
  • By working closely with our Departments and Schools and lending them our support to achieve their individual needs.
